Coy D. Ferguson

Coy D. Ferguson, 68, passed away peacefully Dec. 21, 2000, due to complications from Diabetes. He was born on Sept. 25, 1932 to James Elmer & Arrah (Sales) Ferguson.

Coy was a successful homebuilder and owned Ferguson Landscape Nursery for 46 years.

He was a 1950 graduate of Capitol Hill High School and the University of Central Oklahoma. He attended OSU where he was a member of the Posse Club and a long-time supporter of the athletic program. He was a member of Theta Chi social fraternity.

He was also a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner, member of the OK Home Builders Association, American Nurseryman's Association, and various civic organizations.

Survivors include his two daughters, Linda Flowers of Tuttle and Christy Ferguson Cox of OKC, who along with their mother, Georgann L. Ferguson, were his loving and devoted caregivers during his last illness.

He is also survived by a special son-in-law, Kevin P. Cox of OKC & 4 grandsons who brought him much joy, Adam & Tanner Flowers of Tuttle, Miles & Preston Cox of OKC.

Other survivors include 3 brothers & 3 sisters, Gene Ferguson of Del City, Kenneth Ferguson of OKC, Adrian Ferguson of Midwest City, Geneva Coburn of Choctaw, Wilma Daley of Tuttle & Rita Walker of OKC; and numerous nieces & nephews. Coy leaves behind many friends, including two special ones, Clarence Wallace & Ray Thompson.

Coy's family would like to thank several physicians who made his last year and a half a quality time, Dr. Lee Southmayd, Dr. Jim Melton, and Dr. William Wright.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Services were held at 2:30 Tues., Dec. 26, 2000 at the St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 2727 SW 119th Street, and interment followed at Resthaven Cemetery.
